DRIP - Parent Conversation
Please explain the content to your child and get their feedback
DAY 1: Read the CONTRACT & PACKET
In entrepreneurship, Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and contracts are formed between partners
The importance of understanding a contract before signing (that includes an employment contract)
What the word BREACH means
Explain to your child the consequences and once breached, the other party in the contract is pretty set to execute the termination of the contract and will most likely not allow for an appeal process
Have your child lookup unfamiliar words and images for understanding
Explain the different JA Activities Day One - Day Five and get your child's feedback. (see the JA Summer Camp Schedule)
DAY 2: Summer Learning Loss
Studies show that children learn best when instruction is continuous. Experts have found that the summer vacation breaks the rhythm of instruction, leads to forgetting, and requires a significant amount of review of material when students return to school in the fall. Talk with your child about this study and why camps like JA are important.
DAY 3: Desire for instant gratification in a fast world
Research and planning for your future is an important skill which requires significant time and energy.
Children should participate and spend a significant time researching and planning for their future before entering the 10th grade. Studies show when compared to other developed countries, the American people are more prone to wanting instant gratification and that this behavior leads to our children being bore and wanting to be entertain rather than enjoy long exercises where they create the entertainment. Ask your child about solutions for boredom and how he/she deal with it.
DAY 4: Importance of Positive Networking
Please explain to your child the importance of getting to know positive, like minded people and to encourage you to meet the parent. Our objective is to get students learning early to understand the importance of networking with people with similar values, which is important for entrepreneurship/workplace and to individual future success.
DAY 5: Please complete our survey - Entrepreneurship is a mindset
We are excited about helping parents and youth reach their potential. Please complete our survey so we can continue to create life-changing programs parents desire. (survey will be sent later)
